Pengaruh Ekstrak Daun Sirih (Piper Betle L.) terhadap Perubahan Warna Anasir Gigi dengan Highly Cross-Linked

Abstract


Background: Color stability is an important aspect of denture materials. Artificial teeth with highly cross-linked polymer bonds have good color stability. Green betel leaf extract contains bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins that have potential as natural antibacterial agents; however, some of these compounds may affect the color of denture materials. Methods: This study used highly cross-linked acrylic resin artificial teeth (Shofu Livera-α shade A3) divided into control and treatment groups. Immersion was performed for 5 minutes and evaluated on the 7th and 14th days. Color measurements were conducted before and after immersion using the VITA Easyshade V spectrophotometer. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk test. Results: Significant color changes were observed in the 14-day immersion group. Conclusion: Green betel leaf extract affects the color changes of highly cross-linked acrylic resin denture teeth.
