Abstract

Land conflict in Dago Elos, Bandung, has imposed serious psychosocial burdens on children, manifesting as fear, anxiety, and diminished learning motivation. This community service program aimed to provide a trauma-recovery space through storytelling training using the CERIA method (Story, Exploration, Reflection, Imagination, Action). The novelty of this program lies in the application of the CERIA method as a narrative-based psychoeducational intervention model designed specifically for children affected by active land conflict, integrating narrative, dialogic, reflective, visual-art, and performative action approaches within four structured stages: program planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. The program involved 19 children at the community hall of RW 01 & 02 Dago Elos. Findings indicate that storytelling effectively facilitated safe emotional expression, while exploration–reflection sessions encouraged children to reconstruct their understanding of a "safe home" through open dialogue. Analysis of visual and narrative works revealed dominant themes of safety, family togetherness, and aspirations for a peaceful environment. Process evaluation demonstrated improvement across cognitive, emotional, and performative dimensions, encompassing active participation, self-confidence, and storytelling ability. The CERIA method proved effective as a creative and psychoeducational intervention to support psychosocial recovery among children affected by land conflict, and holds replication potential for other vulnerable child populations.
