Abstract

Community Service Program (PKM) entitled “Enhancing Digital Literacy Capacity as an Effort to Support Inclusive Quality Education” was designed based on the needs of educators from the Mardi Yuana Foundation, representing Rangkasbitung and Labuan. The program to strengthen digital literacy capacity was determined through a situational analysis of educators’ needs in order to promote equitable knowledge and skills in the digital era. Strengthening the capacity of educators is expected to serve as a foundation for improving the abilities of students at the Foundation. This activity was conducted over one day and involved 54 educators, representing teachers from schools in Rangkasbitung and Labuan. The training focused on several topics: the landscape of digital literacy in Indonesia; understanding digital literacy; implications for education; information literacy; and the production of popular content on digital platforms. The content production training provided was podcast production. The program successfully achieved its goal of enhancing teachers’ digital literacy capacity. It is hoped that similar digital literacy enhancement activities for teachers can be carried out more broadly and on a regular basis. In practice, it would be best to tailor the training to groups of teachers based on educational level and the geographic location of their schools.
